This Privacy Policy describes how DMI Tools LLC (“DMI Tools,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and discloses personal information when you visit dmitools.com, request information or a quote, place an order, contact us, or use our services. We are based in Utah and serve customers in the United States and Canada.
1. Information we collect
- Contact and account information: name, company, email address, telephone number, billing and shipping addresses, and information you provide when contacting us.
- Order and transaction information: products and services requested or purchased, product preferences, order history, payment and transaction details, and delivery information. Payment processing is handled through our payment service providers.
- Communications: inquiries, quotes, customer support correspondence, call details and notes, text messages, and relevant consent and opt-out records.
- Device and usage information: IP address, browser and device information, cookie identifiers, referring pages, pages and products viewed, search terms, and interactions with our website, collected through cookies, logs, pixels, and similar technologies.
We collect information directly from you, automatically when you interact with our website, and from providers that support payments, delivery, communications, analytics, and other services you use with us.
2. How we use information
- Provide product information and quotes, process payments, fulfill orders, and arrange delivery.
- Respond to questions, provide technical assistance, and communicate about requests and orders.
- Send text messages and other communications in accordance with your choices and applicable law.
- Operate, secure, analyze, and improve our website and services, and help prevent fraud.
- Where advertising services are used, measure and deliver advertising in accordance with applicable consent and opt-out requirements.
- Maintain business records, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and protect legal rights.
3. Sharing information and advertising
We disclose information to providers that help operate our business, including Shopify, payment processors, shipping carriers, communications providers, and technical service providers. We may also disclose information when required by law or legal process, to protect rights and safety, or in connection with a business transaction such as a merger or sale, subject to applicable law.
Where we use advertising or measurement services, we may share online identifiers, device and usage information, and information about website interactions or purchases with advertising and analytics partners to measure campaigns and provide relevant advertising. Some of these activities may be considered a “sale,” “sharing,” or “targeted advertising” under applicable privacy laws, even when no money is exchanged for the information. These activities are subject to applicable consent and opt-out requirements.
We do not sell or share mobile phone numbers or SMS consent information with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes. We may provide that information to service providers that help deliver and support our messages, subject to appropriate restrictions, or disclose it when required by law.
4. Shopify and processing locations
Our store is hosted by Shopify, which processes personal information to operate the store and provide services. If Shopify Network Intelligence is enabled, Shopify may also process information from your interactions with our store, other merchants, and Shopify to provide enhanced services, including personalization and advertising-related services. Information may be processed by Shopify and other service providers in countries other than the country where you live, where privacy laws may differ.
For information about Shopify’s processing and your choices, see Shopify’s Consumer Privacy Policy and Shopify’s privacy portal.
5. Cookies and privacy choices
We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the store, remember preferences, understand website usage, and, where used, support advertising. You can review the choices available through Cookie preferences on our website. Browser settings can also control cookies, although disabling some cookies may affect store functionality.
Where available under applicable law, you may opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information or its use for targeted advertising through the Your privacy choices / Do not sell or share my personal information link in our website footer. You can also contact support@dmitools.com for assistance with a privacy request. Cookie preferences and advertising opt-outs are separate from unsubscribing from text messages.
Where required by applicable law, we treat recognized opt-out preference signals, such as Global Privacy Control (GPC), as requests to opt out of sale, sharing, or targeted advertising. The older “Do Not Track” browser setting is different from GPC.
6. Text messaging
DMI Tools Customer Messaging may include requested product information, quotes, sales follow-up, order updates, scheduling, and customer support. We collect the mobile number you provide, message content, and relevant consent and opt-out records to deliver and manage those communications.
You may choose to receive text messages by providing the consent requested when you enroll or communicate with DMI Tools. We obtain the form of consent required for the type of message and applicable law, including prior express written consent where required for marketing texts. Providing a telephone number or making a purchase does not, by itself, constitute consent to receive marketing texts. Consent to marketing texts is not a condition of purchase.
You can opt out of text messages at any time by replying STOP or by contacting support@dmitools.com or (385) 425-4623. We also honor other reasonable requests to withdraw consent as required by law. You may receive a single non-promotional confirmation of your opt-out. Further messages covered by your withdrawal will stop, unless you later provide the required consent again.
For assistance, reply HELP or contact support@dmitools.com or (385) 425-4623. Standard message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies based on your interactions with us; there is no fixed cadence.
We do not sell or share mobile phone numbers or SMS consent information with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes. We may provide that information to service providers that help deliver and support our messages, subject to appropriate restrictions, or disclose it when required by law.
7. Telephone communications
We may retain telephone contact details, call notes, and correspondence to respond to requests, provide support, and maintain business records. If we record a call, we will explain the purpose and obtain your consent before recording. Any recordings are used for the purposes explained at the time, such as customer support, quality assurance, training, or compliance, subject to applicable law.
8. Retention
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including fulfilling orders and requests, maintaining appropriate business and consent records, honoring opt-out requests, complying with legal obligations, resolving disputes, and enforcing agreements. Retention depends on the type and sensitivity of the information, the purpose for which it was collected, applicable recordkeeping requirements, and any legal holds. When information is no longer needed, we delete it or de-identify it, subject to applicable law.
9. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information. No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure.
10. Your rights and requests
Depending on where you live and applicable law, you may have rights to know about or access personal information, receive a copy, correct inaccuracies, request deletion, withdraw consent, and opt out of sale, sharing, or targeted advertising. Some rights are subject to exceptions, such as information we must keep for legal or transactional purposes. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal.
To make a request, email support@dmitools.com or call (385) 425-4623. For access, correction, or deletion requests, we may need to verify your identity and, where applicable, the authority of a person making a request on your behalf. We do not require identity verification or an account to exercise a sale/sharing opt-out right where prohibited by law. We will respond within the time required by applicable law and will not unlawfully discriminate against you for exercising your rights. If a request is denied, you may contact us to ask for a review or appeal where applicable law provides that right.
If you have a concern about our handling of personal information, contact us using the details below. You may also have the right to complain to the relevant privacy authority in your jurisdiction.
11. Children
Our services are intended for adults and are not directed to individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact support@dmitools.com.
12. Google / YouTube API Services
DMI Tools uses YouTube API Services to upload DMI’s own marketing videos to DMI’s own YouTube channel. Our use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
- What we access: when an authorized DMI administrator connects our YouTube channel, Google issues our application an OAuth token scoped only to uploading videos (youtube.upload). We do not access, read, or store any other Google or YouTube account data.
- How we use it: the token is used solely to upload videos that DMI staff have created, to DMI’s own channel.
- How we store it: tokens are encrypted at rest and are never sold, shared, or transferred to third parties.
- How to revoke access: you can review and revoke our application’s access to your Google Account at any time at https://myaccount.google.com/permissions, and review your account security at https://myaccount.google.com/security. Revoking access immediately stops all future uploads through our application.
- Retention: if access is revoked, the stored token is invalidated and removed.
For questions about our use of Google / YouTube API Services, contact support@dmitools.com.
13. Changes
We may update this policy to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. We will post the revised policy with an updated date and provide additional notice or obtain consent when required by applicable law. This policy does not itself authorize processing that requires separate consent.
