Professional core drill bit re-tipping by DMI for DMI and compatible competitor barrels. Published standard sizes run from 6" through 48"; inspection-approved custom- or extended-length barrels, including diameters below 6", are quoted through the Core Recovery Program. DMI inspects the tube, removes the worn segments, prepares the barrel, and installs a fresh set of diamond segments. Re-tipping is offered only when the tube passes inspection.
Have several worn barrels or smaller bits? Start with the DMI Core Recovery Program. Standard-working-length bits under 6" route to replacement review. Custom long barrels at any diameter can be reviewed for re-tip when enough usable length remains.
The listed base price includes DMI's suggested segment count. You can request additional segments for pan decking, asphalt, and other abrasive applications. DMI confirms the requested count and adjusted price before work begins.
When the approved finished barrel length remains over 24", DMI adds 10% to the base re-tip service. Additional segments remain separately priced. Unusual lengths, repairs, threads, or configurations receive a manual quote.

Request a custom segment count or recovery plan.
Every barrel is inspected on arrival. For custom barrels, DMI records the incoming length and your minimum acceptable finished length. Warped tubes, cracked barrels, damaged threads or welds, or insufficient usable barrel length may make a tube unsuitable for re-tipping. If the segment seat or a damaged section must be removed, DMI shows the proposed cut-down and finished usable length before you approve the work. When a tube is not serviceable, DMI will quote an eligible new replacement before proceeding.
Turnaround: Scheduled after receipt, inspection, and customer approval. Contact DMI before sending pallet or crate freight.
