Professional core drill bit re-tipping by DMI for DMI and compatible competitor barrels from 2" through 48". We inspect each tube, remove the worn segments, prepare the barrel, and install a fresh set of diamond segments.

Bulk Retip Crate Program

Have a pile of worn core bits? Request a reusable DMI crate, fill it with DMI or competitor barrels, and send the load to our Roy, Utah factory by LTL freight. We inspect the full load and confirm the retip, exchange, or replacement disposition before work begins.

  • $500 credited crate deposit. The deposit is credited to the completed service order after the crate is returned.
  • $1,500 minimum in retip and exchange work per crate.
  • The customer pays inbound LTL freight.
  • DMI covers return freight on completed service totals of $2,500 or more, up to $350.
  • Freight destination: DMI Tools, 1951 W 3350 S, Roy, UT 84067. No dock; forklift unloading is available. Schedule the shipment with DMI before pickup.

Under-6-inch Bit Exchange

For 2" through 5-1/2" barrels, retipping often is not the best value. After inspection, qualifying DMI or competitor barrels can be exchanged for a new DMI core bit at 25% off the current Pro price. DMI confirms eligibility and pricing before proceeding.

Inspection standards

Every barrel is inspected on arrival. Warped tubes, cracked barrels, damaged threads or welds, or insufficient usable barrel length may make a tube unsuitable for re-tipping. When a tube is not serviceable, DMI will quote an exchange or new replacement before proceeding.

Turnaround: Scheduled after receipt and inspection. Contact DMI before sending pallet or crate freight.
